Now you will get all the information about your mobile tariff plans in the newspapers. Telecom regulator Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has directed telcos to publish their tariff plans in newspapers. "Tariffs must be published in atleast one regional, English paper," the regulator says.
According to TRAI, tariffs must be published every six months. It has also directed companies to publish tariff plans in specified formats. Pre-paid, post-paid tariffs will be published in different formats.
New formats will be adopted by companies by February 3. Tariff plans must be tabulated for easy comparison, says the regulator.
Companies must submit publication compliance report to TRAI. All points of sale, telco sites will display tariff plans. "Information on telcos' websites must be updated at all times," says TRAI.
Tariff information at points of sale must be updated on quarterly basis.
