‘Intranet Prahari Project’ for Border Security Force (BSF) Launched

Intranet Prahari Project, that is aimed at providing online access to personnel, operational and administrative works for Border Security Force (BSF) is launched by Union home minister P Chidambaram.
Set up at a cost of Rs 229 crore, the e-office initiative project will benefit about 1.98 lakh BSF personnel across all 237 Battalion level locations of the Central armed police force.
The system will facilitate operational analysis, efficient planning in the domain of procurement, finance and manpower management resulting in quicker and better decision making and is also expected to considerably reduce paper work. The project was sanctioned by the home ministry last February.
Another Central armed police force, Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has a similar proposal for its personnel.
Chidambaram said while congratulating the force for this project:
“It will also bring the force commanders and the sector commanders in the close touch with the BSF senior officials at the headquarters. I think, this will bring them closer so that decision making is participative and cooperative effort. The idea is to move towards paperless office”.
